Covid outbreak - 15th November 2021

I would like to inform our parent community that there are currently over 50 cases of COVID-19 at St Matthew’s School. There are cases in Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 5 and Year 6, with the majority of cases in Year 1 and 5.

We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England and the London Coronavirus Response Cell. We have already increased our measures within school following advice from the Department for Education, such as suspending worship (to reduce crowding), reduced sharing of equipment, rigorous handwashing and increasing ventilation, and from Monday 15th November will be implementing further measures to stop the spread, e.g. by further reducing mixing of children. All parents have been sent  a letter to inform them of the current situation.

Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.
