At St Matthew's, our curriculum has been planned specifically for our children and their needs. We cover the full National Curriculum, with an emphasis on arithmetic, problem-solving and resilience. Additional resources such as Purple Mash and Times Table Rockstars support children with their learning in Maths in school as well as at home. We aim to make Maths teaching purposeful and relevant to daily life, and link it to real-life contexts as often as possible. Resources are used to support children's progress and working walls are provided to help children to work independently. We celebrate and promote Mathematics through an annual Number Day, as well as regular competitions such as the Primary Maths Challenge.
