Pupil Leadership
At St Matthew's, we believe every child has a purpose and the potential to make a positive difference—reflecting our school vision inspired by Jeremiah 29:11:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Pupil leadership is a key part of how we nurture this belief. We provide a wide range of opportunities for children to grow in confidence, responsibility, and service to others, including:
- RE Explorers – Leading and supporting collective worship and helping others explore faith and values.
- School Council – Giving pupils a voice in school decisions and promoting positive change.
- Head Pupils – Representing the school with pride and modelling our values in action.
- Student Staff – Supporting younger pupils and helping with daily routines.
- Playground Leaders – Promoting friendship, inclusion, and fun during playtimes.
- New for 2025–26: Eco-Warriors! – Championing sustainability and caring for God’s creation.
Through these roles, our pupils learn to lead with kindness, integrity, and purpose—preparing them for a hopeful and meaningful future.
