Mathematics
At St Matthew's, our curriculum has been planned specifically for our children and their needs. We cover the full National Curriculum, with an emphasis on arithmetic, problem solving and resilience. Additional resources such as Maths Whizz and Times Table Rockstars, as well as DB Primary and Espresso, support children with their learning in Maths, in school as well as at home. We aim to make Maths teaching purposeful and relevent to daily life, and link it to real life contexts as often as possible. Resources are used to support children's progress and working walls are provided to help children to work independently. We celebrate and promote Mathematics through an annual Number Day, as well as regular competitions.
