EAL
At our school, we are proud to be a vibrant, multi-cultural community where over half of our pupils speak English as an additional language. We celebrate the rich diversity of our families and are deeply committed to supporting every child in their language development and learning journey. Our inclusive approach ensures that EAL pupils feel valued, confident, and empowered to thrive both academically and socially. Guided by our school vision, inspired by Jeremiah 29:11 — “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” — we believe every child has a unique purpose and potential. We work closely with families and specialist staff to provide tailored support, ensuring that all our pupils are equipped for a bright and hopeful future.
We use Learning Village to support our EAL pupils. Learning Village is an excellent resource for supporting EAL pupils, offering a visual, interactive, and language-rich platform that helps children develop both social and academic English. It provides personalised learning pathways, vocabulary-building activities, and engaging lessons that are accessible and adaptable to each learner’s needs. With its focus on visual scaffolding and independent learning, Learning Village empowers EAL pupils to grow in confidence and make meaningful progress in their language development.
