St Matthew's Church
St. Matthew’s C.E. Primary School is very closely involved with the life of the Church. The whole school go to the church for our weekly whole school assembly which is usually led by clergy from St. Matthew’s Church, or a clergy visitor.
We encourage the children to become a part of the life of the church, and some of them attend church on Sunday and are regular members of the Sunday School. The school takes an active part in the All Age Worship Service once a term, where children led the worship and prayers.
We also use the church for our school concerts and plays. We have also been involved in joint concerts in the church, with the Church choir, local brass band and school choir.
In addition, the vicar of St. Matthew’s, Reverend Richard Young, supports aspects of our RE curriculum for example, talking to pupils about communion, confirmation and Baptism, as well as different stories from the Bible.
